    As a resident of California I have heard a lot of different things about medical marijuana such as who is eligible and how to go about obtaining medical marijuana if you are eligible.

alright im kinda sick of hearing ppl say "they should have legalized medical marijuana just like cali" cali was like the fuckin 8th state to do it so they didnt start it... in 1998 washington oregon an alaska were tha first states to have official legal medical marijuana... so thank them not cali for following them lol an for the record washington bud is a million times better then any cali bud. an i can vouch from experience, so stop saying cali is the first to legalize it an they got tha best cuz they dont.. an anyone sayin the east coast has tha best.. east coast aint got shit for any drug haha

These comments only address availabilty in California. What about the rest of us? What about someone from out of state? Can we get a card? Do they accept medical insurance? Paid perscription?

I got my certificate, that's all you need unless you want a card to carry with you, if so then call the county health department in which you live.As for obtaining a certificate go to www.norml.com the page is self explanatory. Find a Doctor in your area, call and make an appointment. I suffer from chronic pain and feel very blessed that this alternative medicine is available.

I support medical marijuana laws & being a current user myself find this informative. HOWEVER I personally find it sort of offensive that someone would post details about how to lie to your docter to get medical marijuana & also don't think it's wise to post the names of docters who would be willing to do this.

yea see thats why it may never get legalized cause there are docs out there that just dont care it should not be that easy to get one, but dont get me wrong weed is great it has helped me geting through pain. But docs should not just be hading them out like its candy. As long as this is going on it will never be legalized.

I live in California, and trust me its harder then you think. you have to have a medical history of something. you cant just say "I have trouble sleeping" or "my back hurts." you have to have gone to the doctor for it a bunch of times in the past. I have TMJ (jaw problems), and a medical history of it since i was 8. but its not as easy as all those people say. And they were very thorough before just handing it over.

yes its easy to get a medical cannabis card. there are doctors out there that will sign anyone off for the money. BUT those doctors are not very dependable when you get busted and you need them in court. those doc's are called bye my lawyer anyway doc in the box. you may get a legit card but the doc's reputation can cause major problems with a jury. there are legit doc's out there and if you realy use this plant for medical need, then take the time to research a good reputable doc.---------beazelbud

Really I wouldn't wish anyone to be eligable,why? I don't want people to be like me, with orthopedic complaints head to toe, living in constant pain and suffering muscle spasm that only the herb can stop. Worse you could have cancer and it's prescribed to fight the nausia that cemotherapy brings or have AIDs and the herb is all that keeps you from wasting away. Marijuana is prescribed to MS victims and Lupus victims and niether condition would I wish on even my ex wife. Yes there are doctors in every location that only want money to give you a card, but if the doctor honestly assesses your condition and you qualify your in a world of hurt
