You got to think about the first little while of getting high, like when you started smoking, Weed would fuck you up and make you pass out, it didnt matter what kind swhag, nuggets whatever it all got you ripped at first, well think about most of the people who will be voting on this, times they smoked (the ones who did) got super super fucked up, so they are basing alot of it on their experience with the Herb and assuming that everyone is getting as paraniod as they did and probably think its a dangerous thing. Like wow if he smoked all of that then he was OUT of HIS MIND, like they once were. But the ones who never smoked at all still see it as this mysterious devil weed that is soo terrible and it makes you go insane. So that is primarily who wil lbe voting, plus the secrect capitol hill stoner that will vote yes. But chances are that there arent enough of them to do it for us.

But painkillers come with it's own world of pain, withdraws cravings, changes who you are, chemical dependence, physical dependence, changes who you are for the worst. Talk to anyone who has come off of that shit. It is basically heroion. But good Cannabis I mean GREAT REEFER is just as good for your pain, it dosen't have that nodding out o.c. euphoria, but it has a Great euphoric rush of its own, affecting your mind making you mellow/ happy happy/ better mood ect... I have no idea how old you are but Herb is a blessing, Oxys are a curse. Keep it natural Keep it green PEACE

No Thanks

Read your Bible. Genesis Ch. 1, and I'm paraphrasing here, states that God created all seed bearing plants, and said it was good. Marijuana is not a drug. It's an herb, delivered to us by the hand of the Almighty.

I think "just matt" missed the boat...cant compare the two...no one ever got hooked or died from weed...im sure oxicontin kills pain better...its a man made drug designed to be the way it is..a lethal drug if not taken properly..marijuana is a natural herb..doesn't hurt anyone no matter how much you smoke. Maybe "just matt" was taking oxicontin when he was thinking what he wrote!

I totally agree with the decriminalization of marijuana. I am a strong supporter of this cause and I'm glad that someone is standing up and finally righting the wrongs. LEGALIZE IT!

although everything is true, but i'd rather say that oxycodion painmedicators by far help ease your pain more then cannabis.

Finally someone with a realistic view of the State of the Union and a realistic plan to start to fix it. Free up the money spent on incarceration of petty weed crimes, tax it and get the money from marijuana rolling back into our economy rather then drug dealers. Leave our police to focus on more important things like meth, heroin and violent criminal. Get more patients marijuana and off drugs that do more harm then good like oxycotton, this in turn will get more of it off the streets. More jobs will be open to people freed from the fear of failing work place piss tests and in turn will boost the economy. September 20th 2008 Boston Freedom Rally to support NORML be there and let everyone know it's time for a change.

I THINK THEY NEED TO LEGALIZE MARIJUANA. THEY USE IT FOR MEDICINAL PURPOSES. IF THEY LEGALIZE IT THINK OF ALL THE MONEY THE GOVERNMENT WILL STAND TO PROFIT FROM LEGALIZING IT. PLUS THEY CAN USE THE MONEY FOR MORE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH. I AGREE ITS TIME TO LEGALIZE IT N REDUCE THE STUPID ASS LAWS THEY IMPOSED ON IT.

I totally agree THE GOVT. SHOULD STAY OUT OF IT!! if the govt. gets involved it will prob. just ruin weed and we wont know what the fuck they add to it, or anything for that matter and who knows how expensive it will end up being.

I'm just finally glad someone is really coming to their senses. I mean come on, this will create a huge surge in our economy and we finally won't be paranoid. I stay positive, even though everyone says it will never happen. Times are changing, and so is our government. The conservatives are for once being called out on what they really are. Blaze on!!

i agree with "legalizedatshit" cause soon as the government puts their dirty hands on shit it gets all f*cked up, just like tabacco. shit don't make no sense. so what when they legalize it, then i'm gonna have 2 pay $20 4 a f*cking blunt , and end up inhaling uranium & god knows what other toxic sh*t they decide 2 throw up in it? i'd rather the government just mind their own f*king business and get bac 2 their call girls & gay liasons. and leave us weedheads da' f*ck alone. The first and most important step to get what we all want is to stop referring to Cannabis as "marijuana". "Marijuana" was a mexican slang term for Cannabis back in the 30's that Harry J. Anslinger used to deceive congress and pass the first laws criminalizing Cannabis. First we need to stop using a slang term to represent our cause.

legalize dat shit

Aug 12 2008, 8:08 pm

it needs to be so that u wont go to jail or get a fine if u smoke it but if it becomes like a tobacco company their just gunna fuck with it and make it addictive and more expensive

What we need is more people to voice their opinion on this subject, we need the people who arent in it as a rebellious act against their parents, we need people who know what they are fighting for, this is a fight for more than just legalize weed, its fight for freedom, the right to use marijuana for recreational purposes, its about legalization to prevent the illegal distribution, even though its never gonna stop being distributed, we will be able to sell it, and tax it, ultimately being able to use it when we want to with no consequence from the government

BillTheButcher

this is a remarkable step towards the legalization of marijuana. if only more represenatives listened to the concerns of their tax paying citizens, they'd realize that the legalization of marijuana could amount to literally billions of tax dollars used to relieve a lot of financial stress that the current tax situation creates. it could be placed in the same category and taxed similarily to tobbaco and alcohol we could use the money to do so many more things for education, the welfare system, etc...

What we NEED are more intelligent people that smoke to come out and speak, instead of the stereotypical 17 year old derelicts that smoke simply to get back at mommy & daddy. Perhaps if more people learned the history of why certain marijuana laws exist then they would simply devoid them. Last I checked, the textile industry isn't one of the major political campaign contributors anymore. I think in order for weed to become legal, it would have to be done so in language of a HEMP-FARMING legalization act first. Smoking it is just a side benefit ;)

yeah if this passed you could grow it but that doesnt mean you could open up a growhouse but you could have 1 or 2 for personal and yes you would be able to smoke in public but ud just have to be whatever age they make it at

This bill isn't about legalizing marijuana... they're decriminalizing it for under a certain amount. Don't get too excited...

Aug 12 2008, 7:23 pm

LEGALIZE IT. EVERY YEAR MORE AND MORE PEOPLE ARE BEING ARRESTED FOR THE USE OF AN HERB THAT HAS FAR LESS CONSIQUENCES THEN THINGS LIKE DRINKING, SMOKING AND PHARMACY DRUGS..... PEOPLE BUSTED FOR TRANSPORTING POT, OR BEING CAUGHT WITH POT ARE GETTING MORE TIME IN JAIL THEN MURDERERS! ITS TIME TO CHANGE PASS THIS BILL! IT WOULD BE THE BEST THING THATS HAPPENED SINCE BUSH WAS ELECTED. IT COULD BE THE TURN AROUND TO SAVING OUR ECONOMY.

Aug 12 2008, 7:09 pm

What does it mean by the "nonprofit transfer" of marijuana? Does it mean it will still be sold on the streets still?Well, it's a start... I think the real way to end the war against marijuana is for the government to sell it and tax it. The majority of gang violence would decrease because you're eliminating 50% of their business right there.

Smart. The war on marijuana is unjust and causing more harm then it is preventing. Legalize it.
